South Florida Boat Show this weekend

Get ready for summer fun on the water by visiting the South Florida Boat Show this weekend. The annual show features an array of power boats to fit every style and budget.  The show will run from June 17-19, 2011 at the Miami Beach Convention Center.  Go here for more info on the event.

This annual event showcases local agriculture and tropical fruit plants. Vendor booths featuring local wines, yummy foods, and rare fruit samplings. Sponsored by the Fruit and Spice Park.


Bass Pro Shops Summer Fun!

The Bass Pro Shops Family Summer Camp features free activities and workshops June 4-10 where families can learn the skills they need to enjoy great outdoor adventures. Events will be held at 54 Bass Pro Shops located across the United States and Canada.

Every Tuesday & Thursday from 2:00pm-6:00pm and Saturday & Sunday from 12:00pm-4:00pm you can go to your local Bass Pro Shop to find FREE fun activities to do with your kids!  They have shooting games, free pictures, smores, and family workshops!

Crafts: On Saturdays and Sundays from 2:00pm-5:00pm, and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00pm-6:00pm, kids will enjoy free crafts like personalizing their own camp scene door knob hanger, painting a wiggle fish, designing a birdhouse, making a camping photo frame, stamping and coloring an animal track picture and making a leather keychain for Dad (while supplies last).

Camping: Free Family Summer Camp workshops will occur 2:00pm-6:00pm Tuesdays and Thursdays, and 12:00pm-4:00pm Saturdays and Sundays beginning June 4th. Learn the basics of hiking, camping and fishing. Other workshops include bird watching, archery, animal identification, pets in the outdoors and plants & insects. Kids will earn a collectable pin for every workshop completed (while supplies last).

Cooks Up Family Fun at Miami International Mall and The Falls Mall

Cost: FREE to Kidgits Club members or $5.00 for nonmembers

Miami International Mall and The Falls Mall invites children to roll up their sleeves and explore the fun side of food with hands-on learning activities during the Simon Kidgits Club’s Super Duper Mini Chefs event. The mini chefs will transform the mall into a magical kitchen as they make their own menu, decorate cupcakes and learn to make other culinary creations. Kids will receive an apron to help them make the sweet treats Kids are also encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to be donated to Feeding South Florida. The Simon Kidgits Club’s Super Duper Mini Chefs event is free to members. Families can sign up for the Kidgits Club, during regular mall hours, for an annual membership fee of $5. Membership includes a Kidgits Club membership card and T-shirt, scheduled entertainment and activities for families, a Birthday Club (including birthday card and gift redemption certificate), unique programs and offers, discounts and a quarterly newsletter.
