If you don't already have one, get the ExtraCare Card:
Be sure to log into CVS.com to register your card and receive great coupons via email. With this card, you will be able to earn weekly ExtraCareBucks (EB) promotions for "Buy $$, Get $$ in EB's". The EB's will print out at the bottom of your receipt (most are valid for up to 30 days) and they are tied to the ExtraCare card that was used to make the purchase. This is what an EB's looks like on your receipt:
The CVS coupon policy allows you to use one manufacturer and one CVS coupon per item. Extra Bucks are not counted as a coupon and therefore you can use as many as you'd like. Remember to check the bottom of your CVS receipt as soon as the cashier hands it to you to be sure your Extra Bucks printed. If they did not print, the cashier can "force" the register to print one for you (this has already happened to me).
One way to earn more EB's is joining the Beauty Club:
You will earn $5.00 EB's for every $50 in qualifying beauty items that are purchased and you will also earn $3.00 EB's on your birthday just for being part of the program.
Another way to earn more EB's is getting the GreenBag Tag:
Use a reuseable bag or just carry your items out (like I usually do) and for every 4th purchase you will earn $1 EB.
Occasionally, CVS will send coupons via email for specific items (ex. $1.00 off L'Oreal Products) which can be used with any CVS card:
However, the $$/$$ coupons (like $4.00 of $20.00 purchase) are activated only on the card they were issued to. Therefore, if CVS did not send it to you, it will beep when scanned and the cashier will receive a message that the coupon was not issued to your card:

There are daily coupons that will print from the coupon machine for everyone, everyday. These coupons only work on the card for which they were issued. Expiration dates for these coupons varies from one day, one week or two weeks.
